Meditation

Meditation doesn't have to mean sitting quietly upright on a support pillow and remaining still throughout the practice.  Walking meditation, mantra meditation, and sound healing can all be just as beneficial to your physical, emotional, and mental health.  It can also be as short as 30 seconds of following the breath in and down so regulate your nervous system or as long as you need.  There is no right or wrong way to meditate and the first step is just getting curious about how this simple practice can create powerful effects throughout your day, your week, and your life. â€‹

 

If you are new to meditation, I recommend trying a guided meditation class.   When practicing on your own, begin by setting a timer for 5 minutes. No need to try to stop the thoughts. Focus on your breath instead, following it in and down, counting slowly to 3 as you inhale and to 6 as you exhale.  The thoughts will continue, but as you notice them, simply return your focus to the breath.
